The Giver was the all-time famous Novel by Lois Lowry of 1993 and was also awarded the Newbery Medal and the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award for excellence in children’s literature. This novel is about a young boy, Jonas, who lives in a seemingly perfect world. As he gradually understands the world he lives in and realizes that it lacks emotions and color for its people, he begins to see that his world is not as perfect as it seems.
The story takes place in a small community known as the Jonas Community, located in the United States. There are only 12 families in this community, and each family has four children.
